Trip Rank is an iOS app that records your driving trips and turns them into stats you can review and compare. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app collects, why it collects it, and the control you have over it. We keep the app honest: no accounts to create, no advertising, and no selling of your personal data.
While you record a trip, Trip Rank collects:
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts. There is no login, no password, and no Sign in with Apple. Authentication is anonymous and device-based.
We use the data above only to provide the app's features:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to running the app.
Location is collected only while a trip recording is active. Because a drive can continue while the app is in the background or your screen is off, Trip Rank continues to record your location in the background for the duration of an active trip, solely to capture the route you are currently driving. When no trip is being recorded, the app does not track your location. You can stop a recording at any time, and you can revoke location access in iOS Settings.
The trips you record are synced to our backend so you can see your own
history across sessions and appear on leaderboards. Motion/accelerometer
data is processed on your device. All data sent between the app and our
servers is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Optional Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple's App Store and managed through RevenueCat. We Up LLC never sees or stores your credit card or payment information. That is handled entirely by Apple. We only receive confirmation of whether your subscription is active.
Trip Rank contains no third-party advertising SDKs and does no ad tracking. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. The only third parties involved are Apple (for app delivery and payments) and RevenueCat (for subscription management).
You are in control of your data. At any time you can open Settings → “Delete all my data” inside the app. This permanently removes your account and all of your trips from our backend. The action is irreversible.
Trip Rank is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the associated data.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
